Among the small villages emerge Fonterutoli, a small medieval town of 1201, where the agreement was signed between Siena and Florence. The Florentines skimp on food to a black cock to sing before dawn, allowing the rider to go before the Florentine Siena. Since then, the black rooster became the symbol of Chianti.
